Maison des Enfants du Monde
"Maison des Enfants du Monde" (MEM) is a non-profit-making association based in Brussels (Belgium), aiming at improving the living conditions of street-children in the developing countries, by giving them access to housing, health care, education and vocational training so that they can be accepted back into society.
Moreover, the association organises projects to improve the situation of children living in difficult situations, known as “children at risk”, so that they do not end up living on the streets as a way of survival.
The association also carries out actions to heighten public awareness of the problem of street-children amongst the local communities and authorities, so that they can participate in helping the children be accepted back into society.
The association was created in June 2002.
Since this date, MEM is working in Uganda in order to help the living conditions of street-children and vulnerable children in the slums of Kampala, in collaboration with our partner .
